Head of Collections – Legal & Litigation

About the role

The National Collections Head – Litigation is responsible for designing and executing cost‑effective legal strategies to resolve disputes and achieve recovery targets across the retail portfolio. Reporting to senior leadership, the role plays a pivotal part in safeguarding the company’s financial interests through litigation management.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate, revise and implement legal strategies for time‑bound actions.
• Drive NPA targets and deliver recovery numbers for a portfolio of 50,000+ accounts.
• Oversee legal aspects of diverse retail products such as STSL, MLAP, STUL, PL, BIL, Digital, THE, and vehicle finance.
• Advise 4+ National Collections Managers and senior heads on strategic changes in loan agreements.
• Coordinate with the Head of Legal and Head of Collections on litigation trends and policy updates.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in legal litigation and collections within the financial services sector.
• Proven ability to lead large teams (direct and indirect) and manage high‑volume portfolios.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks governing NBFCs.
• Excellent strategic thinking and decision‑making capabilities.
