Head of Brand & Communications

About the role

Sarvam is building India’s sovereign AI platform and needs a senior leader to shape how the company’s story is told to developers, enterprises, policymakers and the public. As Head of Brand & Communications you will define the brand identity, drive narrative across all channels and ensure communications directly support business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own Sarvam’s brand positioning, voice, visual identity and ensure consistency across product, marketing, recruiting and public moments.
• Design and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for developer, enterprise, policy and consumer audiences.
• Lead press and media engagement, building relationships with top‑tier business, technology and trade outlets in India and globally.
• Translate complex AI models and research into clear, credible narratives for technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Raise founder and research visibility at AI summits, policy forums, tier‑1 media and podcasts.
• Shape thought‑leadership and policy communications on sovereign AI and India’s AI stack.
• Own product launch communications, coordinating narratives for model releases and capability updates.
• Partner with Marketing, Product, Developer Relations and Sales to deliver integrated, cross‑channel campaigns.

Required profile

• 12+ years in communications, brand or marketing, preferably in high‑growth technology companies.
• Proven track record of shaping narratives and securing coverage in business, technology and industry media.
• Experience acting as a strategic advisor to founders and senior executives.
• Demonstrated ability to build and scale a brand function from the ground up.
• Strong judgment in high‑scrutiny environments with a bias toward measurable impact.
• Bonus: background in AI/ML, existing relationships with AI reporters, and familiarity with Indian AI policy discussions.
