Head of Airport Design (DGM/GM)

About the role

Assystem is seeking a senior leader to head its Airport Design business in Mumbai. The Head of Airport Design will drive planning, design and delivery of airport infrastructure projects, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the strategic vision for the Airports business unit and lead a multidisciplinary team.
• Oversee full project lifecycle from master planning and feasibility to design and construction support, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Provide technical oversight for airside (runways, taxiways, aprons), landside access, terminal planning and airport systems coordination.
• Ensure compliance with international standards such as ICAO, FAA, EASA and local DGCA regulations.
• Act as primary technical and commercial interface with clients, airport authorities and government agencies.
• Lead business development activities, including bids, proposals and market opportunity identification.

Required profile

• 20+ years of experience in airport infrastructure projects with proven leadership of large‑scale programmes.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering or a related field; professional certifications (Chartered Engineer, PMP) preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Civil 3D, AviPlan and BIM platforms for airport design.
• Strong knowledge of ICAO and other aviation standards.
