Group Financial Analyst / Controller

About the role

The Group Financial Analyst/Controller will support financial planning, reporting, profitability analysis, cost control and working‑capital monitoring across BSM. You will ensure accurate reporting, effective budget management and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitor performance against targets and ensure budget adherence.
• Analyse monthly and quarterly financial statements, identify trends, issues and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare management reports with insights and recommendations on budget performance.
• Review, analyse and monitor costs, helping to control unjustified spending.
• Produce consolidated financial reports and perform timely financial close activities.
• Review net‑profitability reports, ensure data integrity and resolve reporting issues.
• Analyse income‑expense variances, identify root causes and support actions to improve profitability.
• Evaluate capital‑expenditure requests and provide financial analysis and recommendations.
• Act as the primary contact for financial and accounting queries, ensuring consistency in reporting.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects such as tax, performance management, feasibility studies, investment appraisal and supply‑chain initiatives.

Required profile

• Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA) – mandatory.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in financial reporting, analysis and compliance within complex organisations.
• Proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, rolling budgets and profitability analysis.
• Experience reviewing capital‑expenditure requests and cost‑control initiatives.

Required skills

• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Strong ability to analyse financial data and prepare reports, statements and projections.
• Understanding of maritime legal and tax frameworks (or similar regulatory environments).
