Graduate Nurse Associate – Step‑down Unit

About the role

The Graduate Nurse Associate position supports recent nursing graduates as they transition into professional practice on the 2 Montvue Medical Step‑down Unit at Parkwest Hospital. The role provides hands‑on care for patients with high‑acuity conditions under the supervision of a registered nurse.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, and documentation.
• Monitor and titrate intravenous drips and other continuous infusions.
• Perform vital‑sign monitoring and respond to changes in patient status.
• Assist with tracheostomy and ventilator management for critically ill patients.
• Participate in bedside reporting and daily multidisciplinary rounds.
• Collaborate with Registered Nurses, Patient Care Assistants, and Health Unit Coordinators to ensure safe, high‑quality care.

Required profile

• Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or eligibility for licensure.
• Willingness to work in a high‑acuity, fast‑paced environment.
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to follow supervision.
