Global Software Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Global Software Support Engineer to analyze and resolve moderate‑complexity software issues on its semiconductor equipment. You will work closely with customers to investigate high‑value problems, systemic bugs, and software failures, providing timely updates and contributing to continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and collaborate to resolve Applied Materials equipment software application and systems issues of moderate complexity, investigating high‑value problems and systemic bugs.
• Provide customer software support via the Software Ticketing system.
• Deliver timely updates and reports to stakeholders on key customer software issues, aligning with group objectives.
• Create, test, and verify Software Change Notifications and Key Feature Procedures for product software.
• Develop customer‑focused feature documentation for external software features.
• Participate in equipment software specification, design, testing, and documentation reviews as required by customer requests.
• Assist in training junior engineers and detailed product operation.
