Global Software Support Engineer

About the role

As a Global Software Support Engineer you will resolve software issues reported from the installed base of Applied Materials' semiconductor and display equipment. You will work within a cross‑functional team to ensure successful software deployment at customer sites and act as the primary interface between customers and the software development team.

Key responsibilities

• Review, troubleshoot, and respond to field‑reported software issues, creating bug reports and validating fixes.
• Validate software functionality against diverse customer use‑cases and ensure smooth transition from development to deployment.
• Install, configure, and support software releases on engineering and process lab tools, collaborating with hardware and process engineers.
• Document software changes, develop troubleshooting guides, and provide training to field support engineers.
• Manage customer expectations, handle escalations, and act as the “voice of the customer” for the development team.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in software product support.
• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, Information Science, or Electronics.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or industrial automation is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
