Global Procurement Specialist – Chemicals Category

About the role

3M is seeking a Global Procurement Specialist for the Chemicals Category to join its Global Capability Centre in India. The role is an individual contributor position with global responsibility, primarily supporting the Americas region and requiring flexibility to work with U.S. time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Provide procurement sub‑category support for chemical raw materials across colorants, inorganics, and specialty chemicals.
• Lead supplier negotiations, competitive bidding events, and contract negotiations in partnership with global category leaders and legal.
• Conduct spend, supplier, and market analyses to develop sourcing recommendations and risk mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Manufacturing, R&D, Quality, Finance, etc.) to support new product introductions and sourcing execution.
• Utilize SAP, GEP and other procurement systems for data management, reporting, and analytics.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain for chemicals, polymers or related raw materials.
• Proven negotiation skills and experience working with global suppliers.
