General Ledger (GL Accounting) Specialist

About the role

The General Ledger (GL) Accounting Specialist will ensure the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial data for Believe's French and Luxembourg entities. Reporting to the Head of Holding Accounting, the role covers end‑to‑end ledger management, month‑end and year‑end closings, and interaction with auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal vouchers and adjustment entries.
• Maintain the fixed‑asset register, record additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation.
• Process intercompany invoices, book intercompany transactions and reconcile balances.
• Execute bank payments and perform bank reconciliations for all accounts.
• Prepare monthly and annual closing entries, review trial balances and ensure completeness of the general ledger.
• Perform monthly reconciliations for all balance‑sheet accounts and analyse P&L variances.
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS, ensure VAT and tax compliance, and support statutory audits.

Required profile

• Proven experience in general ledger accounting within a multinational environment.
• Familiarity with IFRS, French and Luxembourg GAAP, and local tax regulations.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines and collaborate with auditors.
