General Cashier

About the role

The General Cashier is responsible for managing all cash‑related operations within the hotel, ensuring accurate collection, deposit and reporting of funds. This role supports both financial integrity and excellent guest service in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bank deposits of all checks and cash, and issue official receipts for each transaction.
• Compile and submit daily cash collection reports, foreign‑exchange control reports and other financial documentation for review by the Director of Finance.
• Maintain organized payroll files, process payroll deductions and ensure reconciliation of master and manual records before each pay‑run.
• Handle guest and employee enquiries courteously, resolve issues or forward them for prompt follow‑up, and contribute to achieving high guest‑satisfaction scores.
• Verify and deposit daily payments, manage house funds and small change, and reconcile front‑office remittance envelopes with computerized reports.
• Disburse petty‑cash requests, monitor IOU clearances, and safeguard the safe combination and foreign‑exchange rate updates.

Required profile

• Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in cash handling and financial reporting.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to provide courteous service to guests, employees and external partners.
• Ability to work collaboratively with finance, front‑office and operations teams.
• Knowledge of statutory tax and industrial‑relations legislation is advantageous.
