GCP Tech Lead

About the role

Capco is seeking an experienced GCP Tech Lead to drive data engineering initiatives for its banking and financial services clients in India. You will lead the design, development, and optimization of large‑scale data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑impact solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Python, SQL, and GCP services such as BigQuery, Pub/Sub, and Dataflow.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries in BigQuery for data transformation, extraction, and analysis.
• Assist in designing and implementing data models within the data warehouse.
• Collaborate with project teams to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in data pipelines and ensure data quality, accuracy, and availability.
• Contribute to documentation and adhere to data engineering best practices.
• Support the team in various data‑related tasks and stay eager to learn new technologies.

Required profile

• 10‑12 years of IT/cloud consulting experience with at least 5 years hands‑on GCP (BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow/ETL).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven track record leading GCP projects with measurable outcomes.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholder management and executive presentations.
• Relevant certifications such as Professional Data Engineer or Professional Cloud Architect are preferred.

Required skills

• Google Cloud Platform services: BigQuery, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Dataproc, Vertex AI.
• Programming languages: Python, SQL.
• CI/CD tools: Cloud Build.
• Cloud security and monitoring: IAM, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging.
• Integration experience with Snowflake or Databricks.
• Knowledge of data governance, GDPR compliance, and cost management on GCP.
