Functional Specialist – SAP FICO

About the role

The Functional Specialist – SAP FICO will act as the SAP FI process expert for S/4 HANA projects, supporting the customer Tax Coordinator throughout the requirement phase. The role involves tax customizing, migration preparation, and providing first‑level support during integration and user acceptance testing.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as SAP FI process expert for S/4 HANA implementations and support tax coordination.
• Handle tax customizing requirements, including entity and country settings, tax code creation, and mapping loads.
• Prepare migration activities such as initial load, data cleansing, error‑log handling, and test‑case coordination.
• Provide INT and UAT first‑level support, key‑user training, and authorizations/roles management.
• Deliver system‑landscape explanations, operational training, and support process‑improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into functional specifications and mentor junior consultants.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of hands‑on experience with SAP FI (SAP FICO) in finance and tax contexts.
• Proven experience in implementation, rollout, or migration projects, especially tax‑related topics.
• Understanding of integration between FI, SD and S2P modules and tax reporting requirements (GST, DRC, SAF‑T).
• Knowledge of S/4 HANA environment is an advantage.
