Functional Safety Manager

About the role

The Functional Safety Manager is responsible for planning and managing functional safety activities throughout a product’s life cycle. Working closely with project management and engineering teams, the role ensures compliance with relevant safety standards and customer requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Advise, lead, coordinate and own the Functional Safety Plan to ensure work product compliance.
• Develop functional safety tools, trainings, and processes.
• Translate customer safety requirements into system, subsystem, and component specifications.
• Lead verification and confirmation reviews, including safety analyses such as D‑FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and FFI.
• Gather compliance documentation and evidence for safety cases and sign off work products.
• Participate in regular and escalation meetings with customer Functional Safety Managers.
• Organize training and internal seminars to keep the team aligned with standardization requirements.

Required profile

• University degree (Bachelor’s) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Team player able to work in a fast‑paced environment handling multiple tasks.
• Strong communication, organization, planning and time‑management abilities.
• High ethical standards, personal accountability and integrity.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills across all organization levels.
