About the role

The Town of Bel Air is hiring a Full‑Time Police Dispatcher (Police Communications Operator I) to serve as the vital link between the public and the Bel Air Police Department. The role involves receiving emergency and non‑emergency calls, dispatching police units, and coordinating responses to ensure safety.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and prioritize emergency and non‑emergency calls from the public.
• Dispatch police units and coordinate response efforts.
• Monitor radio systems, fire alarms, and regional communication networks.
• Maintain accurate logs, records, and incident reports.
• Conduct inquiries using state and national law‑enforcement databases.
• Provide real‑time information support to officers in the field.
• Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
