Front Line Manager – Senior Engineer (Shift Operations)

About the role

The Front Line Manager – Senior Engineer will supervise shift operations of a value stream, handling customer complaints, internal defects, and coordinating with cross‑functional teams. The role ensures safety, quality and shop‑floor standards while driving continuous improvement to meet operational targets.

Key responsibilities

• Organise production setup according to schedule and assign tasks to associates while following standard procedures and work instructions.
• Lead cross‑functional investigations of customer quality complaints, coordinate with R&D and drive corrective actions.
• Monitor shift performance metrics (OEE, FPY, scrap, tool life) and record attendance, breakdowns and quality issues for hand‑over.
• Conduct safety, quality and shop‑floor checks, ensure compliance with EHS and audit requirements.
• Facilitate daily shift meetings, coach associates, manage grievances and promote continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and TPM.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial, Automobile or Production engineering.
• 3‑5 years experience in automotive component or ancillary manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of product function, drawings, BOM and quality management systems.
• Certification in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OSHAS) is preferred.

Required skills

• SAP, MES and MAS systems.
• Advanced MS Office and Agile methodology.
• Operation of CNC machines, assembly MAE controls and testing benches.
• Vision systems, scanners and digital shop‑floor tools (SMP, DigitalBOM, AutoCAD).
• Problem‑solving tools: 8D, Shainin, Human Error Prevention.
