Front Desk Receptionist – Hotel Operations

About the role

The Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for guests at The Hosteller’s properties across South India. You will manage the complete guest lifecycle—from pre‑arrival to post‑stay review—ensuring a seamless, memorable experience while upholding safety, compliance and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

• Own the guest lifecycle across all five stages: pre‑arrival, check‑in, in‑stay, checkout and review.
• Maintain an attended desk during peak arrival and departure windows.
• Conduct mandatory compliance checks (valid ID, phone verification, C‑form filing for foreign nationals) and enforce property policies on under‑age bookings, alcohol, substances, visitor hours and prohibited items.
• Log incidents and guest interactions promptly with supporting evidence.
• Handle guest requests, complaints and service recovery, coordinating with housekeeping, maintenance, F&B and concierge teams.
• Manage cash handling, inventory integrity and safety/security procedures at the front desk.
• Follow documented SOPs and update the GO dashboard to ensure accurate record‑keeping.

Required profile

• 1–5 years of experience in hospitality or front‑office operations.
• Ability to work independently, make judgment calls within SOP limits and guide junior staff.
• Strong customer‑service orientation with a focus on problem‑solving and recovery.
• Excellent attention to detail for compliance, record‑keeping and cash handling.
• Flexibility to work shifts, including peak periods.
