FP&A Controlling & Planning Analyst

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking a proactive FP&A Controlling & Planning Analyst to provide financial planning and controlling expertise across the organization. You will analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend actions to improve financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze business performance versus budget and forecast, and benchmark KPIs against internal and external peers.
• Partner with local controllers to understand drivers of financial performance, propose value‑add insights, and prepare "what‑if" and sensitivity analyses.
• Track and analyze overhead absorption, product/customer profitability, capital expenditure budgets, and actual spend on a monthly basis.
• Perform inventory, net working capital, and cash‑flow analysis; support month‑end closure and ensure accurate P&L and balance‑sheet reporting.
• Prepare MIS data, compare it with benchmarks, and produce clear reports and presentations for management.
• Execute internal control activities, support SOX audit processes, and ensure compliance with external and internal regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process and report standardisation across regions and business units.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CMA/CA, or MBA.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Financial Planning & Analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• SAP FICO (including CO‑PA) and familiarity with SAP SD, PP, MM, PS modules.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Microsoft PowerPoint.
