Foundry Operators and Assistant Operators

About the role

We are seeking motivated Operators and Operator Assistants to join our foundry team. The positions are full‑time, 40+ hours per week, with day (6 am‑2 pm) or evening (2 pm‑10 pm) shifts from Monday to Friday. You will work in a unionized environment handling high‑temperature processes and supporting production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor foundry equipment during assigned shifts.
• Assist senior operators with setup, adjustments, and troubleshooting.
• Perform measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to union and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members in a fast‑paced, changing environment.

Required profile

• Good physical condition and endurance to work in hot conditions.
• Ability to follow instructions and adapt quickly to production changes.
• Willingness to work day or evening shifts on a rotating schedule.
• Union membership or eligibility.

Required skills

• Knowledge of imperial and metric measurement systems.
• Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures, micrometers, and vernier calipers.
• Forklift driver’s license (asset).
• Bilingual ability (asset).
