Forward Deployed Engineer – Build AI for India's Power Grid

About the role

Pravah is building the world’s first foundation model of the electric grid and needs engineers who can bridge cutting‑edge AI with real‑world utility operations. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will embed with Indian DISCOMs, understand their data challenges, and help deliver AI‑driven solutions that power millions of households.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to DISCOM sites across India and embed with engineering, planning, and operations teams to understand data landscapes and pain points.
• Acquire, clean, and structure large‑scale operational datasets such as SCADA streams, smart‑meter telemetry, GIS networks, billing records, and weather feeds.
• Partner with ML and engineering teams to tune and deploy models for demand forecasting, renewable generation forecasting, network mapping, and load‑flow analysis.
• Architect and ship cloud‑native data pipelines on GCP that productionise these models for customers.
• Work alongside utility leadership on procurement, compliance, and rollout from pitch to live deployment.
• Identify product gaps from the field and feed them back to the core engineering team.

Required profile

• A degree in engineering, computer science, or a quantitative discipline.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python; comfortable with SQL, pandas, and at least one ML framework (scikit‑learn, XGBoost, PyTorch).
• Experience working with large, messy real‑world datasets.
• Comfort with cloud infrastructure (GCP or AWS) and modern data tooling.
• Strong written and verbal communication and willingness to travel within India on short notice.
• Bias toward ownership, strong problem‑solving instinct, and a friendly, easy‑going personality.
