About the role

The Karnataka Forest Department is hiring 339 Forest Guard candidates to protect and manage forest resources across the state. Selected candidates will be posted in various districts and will work under the department’s guidelines to ensure conservation, law enforcement, and community interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol forest areas to prevent illegal activities such as poaching, logging, and encroachment.
• Monitor wildlife, report sightings, and assist in rescue operations.
• Implement and enforce forest protection laws and departmental orders.
• Assist in fire prevention, detection, and control measures.
• Maintain records of patrols, incidents, and daily activities.
• Engage with local communities to promote awareness of forest conservation.

Required profile

• Passed Pre-University Course (PUC) or equivalent.
• Physically fit as per the department’s standards.
• Willingness to serve in any district of Karnataka.
• Good moral character and integrity.

Required skills

• Physical stamina and ability to handle demanding outdoor work.
• Basic knowledge of forest laws and regulations.
• Effective communication for interacting with the public and team members.
