Food Storekeeper – Nigeria

About the role

The Food Storekeeper is responsible for the daily operation of food stores, ensuring that all dry, chilled and frozen items are received, stored and issued in compliance with safety and quality standards. This role supports meal production by maintaining accurate stock levels and preventing waste.

Key responsibilities

• Manage dry, chilled and frozen storage areas, applying FIFO and FEFO rotation systems.
• Receive, check, and store food items, verifying quantity, quality, packaging, temperature and expiry dates.
• Maintain receiving records, label and identify all stored items, and monitor expiry dates.
• Control chilled and frozen items (meat, poultry, fish, dairy, frozen products) and record daily temperature readings.
• Ensure proper segregation of raw materials according to food‑safety requirements.
• Issue materials according to approved requisitions and daily production needs.
• Prepare reports on slow‑moving, excess, damaged or expired items.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience in food storekeeping and daily store operations.
• Level 2 food safety certification.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• At least a high‑school diploma.

Required skills

• FIFO and FEFO stock rotation.
• Temperature monitoring and record‑keeping for cold rooms and freezers.
• Inventory and stock tracking.
• Labeling and identification of stored items.
