Fitter (Mechanical Assembly)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Fitter to join our production team. The role involves assembling and finishing metal components for orthopaedic equipment, ensuring high quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Tap and deburr products according to specifications.
• Examine detailed drawings, material lists and equipment requirements under supervisor guidance.
• Set up, adjust and operate grinding, drilling and other machining equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
• Fit, assemble and weld metal parts, tools and sub‑assemblies.
• Prepare instrument boxes, bend plates and fit handle locks.
• Inspect finished parts for accuracy and quality.
• Respond promptly to emergency work orders.
• Document work progress and maintain proper records.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience as a fitter or mechanic.
• ITI certification or a Certified Mechanist degree.
• Knowledge of mechanical machines and standard production operations.

Required skills

• Machine operation (grinding, drilling, tapping).
• Metal fitting and assembly.
• Welding techniques.
• Blueprint and drawing interpretation.
• Documentation and record‑keeping.
