First Aid Assistant

About the role

The First Aid Assistant provides immediate medical support to students, staff and visitors at CHIREC International School. Working within school hours, the role ensures the health, safety and well‑being of the school community while supporting established health policies and safeguarding procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first‑aid care for injuries, illnesses and medical emergencies.
• Monitor students who feel unwell and decide on rest, referral or escalation.
• Administer basic medications in line with school policy and parental consent.
• Maintain accurate medical records, incident reports and treatment logs.
• Assist in managing chronic conditions such as asthma, allergies and diabetes.
• Keep the school sick room/clinic clean, well‑stocked and compliant with safety standards.
• Regularly check and replenish first‑aid kits and emergency equipment.
• Support implementation of health, safety and hygiene protocols.
• Participate in emergencies, drills and evacuation procedures.
• Communicate promptly with parents/guardians about student health issues and coordinate with teachers and administrators.
