Fire Services Engineer

About the role

The Fire Services Engineer is responsible for administering fire station operations, ensuring the availability and functionality of fire safety equipment and vehicles, and managing fire safety incidents in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and follow fire safety policies, processes, SOPs, and maintenance programs.
• Investigate fire incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis and develop corrective action plans.
• Support plant‑level fire safety audits and address identified gaps.
• Maintain and update risk assessment sheets to ensure adequate fire prevention measures.
• Organise and conduct daily fire drills and fire awareness training for staff.
• Provide immediate emergency response, command and control, and resource mobilisation.
• Ensure readiness of firefighting equipment, vehicles and communication systems at all stations.
• Maintain log books, occurrence books and shift documentation for compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering in Fire, or Diploma Engineer / BSc with Station Officer Course or Sub‑Officer Course.
• Relevant certifications such as Station Officer or Sub‑Officer.
• Experience in fire safety management and emergency response preferred.
