Fire Property Engineer – Cabin Interior

About the role

Join Airbus' Materials, Parts, Processes & Tests team in Bangalore to lead fire‑property engineering for aircraft cabin interiors. You will ensure that cabin components meet stringent fire certification requirements and support the development of safe, compliant interior solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare fire‑properties justification reports for cabin component certification.
• Develop alternative solutions to meet evolving fire‑property standards.
• Coordinate work scope, cost, and schedule for cabin development projects with internal CoCs.
• Define specifications for cabin components aligned with fire‑property requirements.
• Represent cabin fire‑property needs in cross‑functional projects and external collaborations.
• Witness fire‑property qualification tests at external flammability laboratories.
• Monitor material and component developments, linking them to qualification and certification needs.
• Create and maintain documentation on fire‑property challenges and requirements.
• Manage vendors and subcontractors to ensure technical agreement quality and consistency.
• Provide after‑sale support, including service bulletins, upgrades, and repair solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Material Engineering, Polymer, Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in material fire properties, testing, and certification.
• Proven experience with development, testing, and verification of cabin interior components.
• Familiarity with certification handling, quality assurance, and testing procedures.
• Knowledge of Airbus technical standards, materials, and processes.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously.
