Financial Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Financial Controller to build and lead robust financial operations for Rekise Marine, a pioneer in autonomous ships and submarines. Reporting directly to the Founder/CEO, you will shape the financial foundation of a fast‑growing deep‑tech company operating in the defense sector.

Key responsibilities

• Design and enforce internal controls across multi‑location operations, overseeing payments, approvals and cash management.
• Develop and maintain management information systems, dashboards and real‑time reporting for leadership and the board.
• Serve as the primary financial liaison with institutional investors, preparing reports, due‑diligence materials and presentations.
• Support fundraising initiatives with financial models, projections and capital‑expenditure planning.
• Coordinate audits, ensure statutory compliance and manage external accounting and secretarial service providers.
• Partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, business planning and project‑level financial tracking for defense contracts.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or ICWA/CMA with 6‑10 years of progressive finance experience.
• Minimum 3 years in high‑growth startups (Series A‑B) and proven ability to scale financial operations.
• Hands‑on experience working with venture capital or private‑equity investors and supporting fundraising rounds.
• Deep knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, income tax, company law and regulatory compliance.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to translate financial data into actionable business insights.
