Financial Controller

About the role

Volo Health TPA is a fast‑growing health‑technology platform looking for a Chartered Accountant to own the entire finance function as Financial Controller. This is a hands‑on, commercial role where you will be directly involved in contract negotiations, cost control and full financial stewardship.

Key responsibilities

• Review and negotiate insurer service agreements, hospital tariffs, SLAs and pricing constructs.
• Lead vendor negotiations for technology, manpower, medical audit and administration services.
• Drive cost‑control initiatives: cost per claim, policy servicing cost, manpower productivity.
• Collaborate with claims and operations teams to analyse financial drivers.
• Own the books, monthly close, and management reporting.
• Reconcile claims float, insurer receivables and provider payables.
• Manage end‑to‑end statutory compliance (GST, TDS, income tax, ROC, IRDAI reporting).
• Oversee statutory and internal audits and build scalable finance controls.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant with 6‑8 years post‑qualification experience, based in or willing to relocate to Mumbai.
• Commercially minded with experience arguing pricing or contract terms.
• Exposure to insurance, healthcare or BFSI sectors is valuable.
• Ambitious about career growth over the next five years.
• Strong written communication and ability to explain numbers to non‑finance stakeholders.
