Financial Controller

About the role

Maersk is seeking a Financial Controller to lead month‑end close reporting, cost accounting and balance‑sheet reconciliation across multiple company codes. The role will ensure accurate cost reporting, perform detailed variance analysis and drive process improvements in a fast‑changing logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage preparation of month‑end close reporting and general‑ledger accounting.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliation and validate cost records.
• Conduct moderately complex cost audits and ensure compliance checks are signed off.
• Analyse cost trends per cost centre and provide explanations for variances.
• Develop recommendations and implement changes to minimise risk and improve performance.
• Standardise and align financial processes across different company codes.

Required profile

• Solid financial education (Cost Accountant, Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance).
• Minimum 7 years of experience in cost controlling, cost accounting or P&L analysis.
• Self‑motivated with strong analytical and structured working methods.
• Excellent written and verbal English.
• Adaptable to high‑workload periods and able to work collaboratively in a team.
• Shipping/transportation industry experience is a plus but not mandatory.
