Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Financial Controller to own the entire accounting and finance function of Uniq You, a fast‑growing e‑commerce fashion startup. Reporting directly to the founders, you will build and scale the finance processes from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full‑book accounting including ledgers, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Run end‑to‑end payroll for employees and contractors, handling statutory deductions.
• Manage GST, TDS, PF/ESI filings and coordinate with external consultants for compliance and audit.
• Oversee vendor payments, employee reimbursements and cash‑flow tracking.
• Prepare and maintain MIS reports such as monthly P&L, budget vs. actuals, unit costs and burn rate.
• Set up internal financial controls, approval workflows and documentation as the company scales.
• Provide ad‑hoc financial analysis to support pricing, costing and vendor decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on accounting experience with end‑to‑end book closing.
• Experience in a startup, SME or manufacturing environment handling multiple finance functions.
• High ownership mindset; comfortable being the sole finance person.
• Preferably from an e‑commerce startup; MBA graduates are a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Tally or Zoho Books (or similar accounting software).
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS and payroll processing.
• Ability to prepare MIS, financial statements and cash‑flow reports.
• Experience setting up financial controls and approval workflows.
