Financial Controller

About the role

PEP, the parent company of mCaffeine and Hyphen, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead day‑to‑day finance, accounting and compliance activities. The role demands a Chartered Accountant with strong hands‑on experience in financial reporting, audit coordination, direct tax, GST and statutory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and periodic closures.
• Prepare accurate financial statements in line with Ind AS / AS standards.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting policies and standard operating procedures.
• Monitor expenses, working capital and cash flow.
• Coordinate statutory, internal and tax audits; act as primary contact for auditors.
• Handle direct tax compliance – computation, advance tax, TDS and return filing.
• Manage GST compliance – return preparation, reconciliations and filing of GSTR‑1, GSTR‑3B and annual returns.
• Ensure Companies Act and ROC filing requirements are met and maintain statutory registers.
• Prepare MIS reports and basic financial analysis for management.
• Work with ERP/accounting systems and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification – mandatory.
• 3–4 years of post‑qualification experience in finance and accounting.
• Hands‑on exposure to financial accounting, audits, direct tax, GST and statutory compliance.
