Financial Controller (Hotel)

About the role

As a Financial Controller you will lead the financial management of a hotel, ensuring compliance with company, owner, statutory and fiscal requirements. You will act as the primary financial advisor to hotel leadership, driving profitability and delivering accurate, transparent reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all financial operations and align them with the hotel’s strategic goals.
• Direct the preparation of annual plans, forecasts, budgets and provide financial insights for decision‑making.
• Advise hotel management, ownership and department heads with data‑driven recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong financial controls to protect assets.
• Optimize financial reporting systems for accuracy, efficiency and transparency.
• Monitor and approve sales, purchases, payroll and expense transactions.
• Lead, develop and retain a high‑performing finance team.

Required profile

• University degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of hotel finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Professional accounting qualification preferred.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Demonstrated integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership and urgency.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hotel systems such as OnQ, Check SCM, SUN, OPERA/OnQ PMS, MICROS, HRLINK.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial controls, compliance and reporting standards.
