Financial Controller - Contractor

About the role

The Financial Controller will oversee accounting, finance, tax and audit functions for our Indian operations, ensuring compliance with local and group reporting standards. This contract position requires strong technical expertise in tax, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounting, finance, audits, regulatory inspections, and MIS reporting.
• Prepare and review tax audit, transfer pricing documentation, corporate tax filings, TDS and GST calculations and returns.
• Reconcile TDS and GST accounts, liaise with regional tax teams, and communicate regulatory impacts.
• Produce monthly and quarterly head‑office reports in line with French GAAP and IFRS.
• Monitor daily trial balances, clear control‑account balances, and resolve any breaks.
• Execute month‑end activities: balance‑sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, management reporting, and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Coordinate statutory, tax and regulatory audits, providing required data and addressing queries.
• Automate and fine‑tune processes, implement controls, and support impact analysis for new products or system changes.

Required profile

• Graduation/Post‑graduation with Chartered Accountancy (CA) or Inter‑CA qualification.
• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience, preferably in the broking industry.
• Strong knowledge of tax rules, transfer pricing, GST, TDS, and accounting standards (Ind AS, IFRS, French GAAP).
