Financial Controller – CFO-facing role

About the role

The position reports directly to the CFO and is responsible for the enterprise‑wide financial controllership function. It will safeguard financial integrity, strengthen governance, and build a high‑performing finance team within a listed manufacturing organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with Ind‑AS, the Companies Act and SEBI regulations.
• Manage group reporting and ensure compliance with statutory, internal and cost audit requirements.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity, oversee key account reconciliations and strengthen the ICFR framework.
• Supervise manufacturing accounting, product costing, inventory valuation and working‑capital performance.
• Coordinate cash‑flow planning, liquidity management, banking controls and treasury governance.
• Develop capabilities across financial reporting, fixed assets, and balance‑sheet governance.
• Lead and mentor a team of two direct reports while collaborating with plant, corporate and group finance stakeholders.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification with 10‑12 years of post‑qualification experience.
• Strong financial controllership experience in a manufacturing environment (mandatory).
• Prior experience in a listed‑company setting (highly preferred).
• In‑depth knowledge of Ind‑AS, SEBI requirements and balance‑sheet governance.
• Proven track record in statutory audit, internal audit and ICFR management.
• Experience with manufacturing accounting, costing, inventory valuation and group reporting.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrix organisation and manage senior stakeholders.
