Financial Controller – Associate Director, Finance

About the role

Associate Director – Finance Controller will own end‑to‑end financial controllership, governance, and cash management at Pilgrim. Reporting to the Senior Director – Finance and leading a team of ~20 across Accounting, Receivables, Payables, Tax & Treasury.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closure with clean, accurate books, owning P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and reconciliations.
• Strengthen systems, processes and automation using ERP and BI tools; build scalable reporting and management insights.
• Ensure 100% compliance with GST, Income Tax, TDS and Companies Act; lead statutory, internal and tax audits.
• Own accounts receivable management – DSO, ageing, collections, credit limits and bad‑debt provisioning.
• Oversee accounts payable – invoice processing, GRN matching, vendor payments and trade spend control.
• Maintain internal financial controls, risk frameworks and audit readiness.

Required profile

• CA qualification (first or second attempt preferred) with strong academic track.
• 5+ years experience in financial controllership, closures, audits, AR/AP and working‑capital management.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a high‑ownership finance team of 20+ members.
• Prior experience in FMCG, D2C or retail environments is preferred.
• High integrity, detail‑oriented and strong business understanding.
• Excellent stakeholder management with senior management, auditors and supply‑chain partners.
• Bias for process rigor, continuous improvement and strong compliance mindset.

Required skills

• Expertise in ERP systems and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
• In‑depth knowledge of Ind‑AS and IGAAP accounting standards.
• Hands‑on experience with GST, Income Tax, TDS and Companies Act compliance.
• Financial reporting, cash‑flow management and treasury operations.
• Audit readiness and internal control frameworks.
• Accounts receivable and payable automation and analytics.
