Financial Controller – Accounting & Reporting Lead

About the role

Heartstream, a leader in emergency medical technology, is seeking a Financial Controller to lead accounting operations and financial reporting from its Bangalore office. The role supports North American business, requiring coordination across time zones and delivering accurate IFRS‑compliant statements. You will manage a small accounting team and partner with cross‑functional stakeholders to drive financial insight and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting strategy aligned with business and regulatory requirements.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end close, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Oversee preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
• Strengthen and monitor internal controls across the finance function.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to senior leadership.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams to support business objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Support internal and external audits and drive continuous process improvements.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Certified Accountant (ICAI, ACCA or equivalent).
• 1–2+ years post‑qualification experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with third‑party vendors.
• Proficient spoken English for interaction with US‑based stakeholders.
