Finance & Project Controller

About the role

The Finance & Project Controller is the financial backbone of Deerns India, acting as an independent business partner to both Country Management and Project Management. You will own country‑level financial control and be deeply involved in project‑level financial oversight throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Full ownership of monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing for the Indian legal entity.
• Prepare and analyse management reports, financial statements, dashboards, budgets, forecasts and scenario analyses.
• Manage cash flow, liquidity planning and working‑capital optimisation.
• Coordinate payroll, local accounting, statutory compliance, tax filings and audit processes.
• Act as primary contact for banks, auditors, tax advisors and regulatory bodies.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to Country Management.
• Participate in tender and contract review, assess financial risks and validate project data in the ERP system.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts, margins, cash flow and risks; advise Project Managers on financial performance.

Required profile

• Hands‑on senior controller with experience in country‑level financial control and project finance.
• Proven ability to manage end‑to‑end financial closing, reporting and forecasting.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy, transparency and process improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
