Finance Executive

About the role

The Finance Executive will join a centralised finance team responsible for high‑quality financial reporting, governance of end‑to‑end financial processes, and robust balance‑sheet management. Reporting to senior finance leadership, the role ensures accuracy, timeliness and compliance while driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, review and submission of periodic financial statements in line with Unilever policies, local GAAP/IFRS and internal timelines.
• Govern core financial processes such as closing, reconciliations, provisions, accruals, inter‑company and fixed assets.
• Own balance‑sheet hygiene through regular reviews, ageing analysis and timely resolution of open items.
• Coordinate month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
• Review and sign‑off key account reconciliations, escalating and resolving issues promptly.
• Use SAP extensively for posting, reporting, analysis and controls, maintaining data integrity.
• Leverage Power BI to create or enhance dashboards and reports that provide insight into financial performance and process KPIs.
• Partner with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and business stakeholders to resolve issues and implement improvements.
• Support internal and external audits, preparing schedules and addressing audit observations.
• Identify and drive simplification, standardisation and automation opportunities in reporting and control processes.
• Lead, coach and develop a small team of finance professionals.

Required profile

• Professional finance qualification preferred (CA, CMA, ACCA, MBA in Finance) or equivalent.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, controllership or related finance roles, preferably in a large or multinational organisation.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP FI/CO (or equivalent) in a reporting or controlling environment.
• Exposure to reporting/visualisation tools such as Power BI is an advantage.
• Experience managing or coaching team members is preferred.
