Finance Controller – Port Operations

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the financial planning, reporting and control functions for a major port operation. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate budgeting, timely financial statements, and robust cash management to support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, consolidation, review and finalisation of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, securing timely approvals.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance, recommending corrective actions.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS reports and coordinate performance reviews.
• Oversee preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse expenses, receivables and working‑capital trends to drive operational efficiency.
• Manage cash flows, liquidity positions and short‑term investment decisions.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure closure of audit observations.
• Ensure completion of statutory audits within defined timelines and compliance with GST, EPCG and other statutory requirements.
• Lead, coach and develop the finance team while driving adoption of modern finance systems and best practices.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Minimum 10 + years of experience in Finance & Accounts.
• Experience handling end‑to‑end finance operations in a large organisation or infrastructure/port setup.
• Strong exposure to balance‑sheet finalisation, statutory audits and regulatory compliances.
