Finance Controller

About the role

We are a Series B‑funded rural commerce platform scaling across India’s semi‑urban markets. As we expand our footprint, transaction volume and product range, finance is shifting from traditional accounting to a strategic control tower. We seek a seasoned Finance Controller to build a world‑class controllership function in a high‑growth, entrepreneurial environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end financial controllership, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness of all books.
• Design and maintain the accounting and financial reporting framework across entities, locations and operating units.
• Establish robust accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Drive timely monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles and continuous improvement of the month‑end process.
• Manage chart of accounts, accounting architecture and complex transaction reviews.
• Oversee revenue, expense, provision, accrual and reconciliation processes.
• Monitor balance‑sheet integrity, resolve open items and implement strong review mechanisms.
• Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, leases, investments, loans and employee benefits.

Required profile

• 15+ years of finance and accounting experience, preferably in high‑growth, transaction‑intensive businesses (e.g., FMCG, e‑commerce, fintech, agritech).
• Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, internal controls and audit readiness.
• Proven ability to build scalable finance infrastructure and operate in ambiguous, fast‑moving environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and leadership capabilities.
