Finance Controller

About the role

The Finance Controller will lead the financial planning, analysis and reporting functions, ensuring robust control over budgets, cash flow and regulatory compliance. Reporting to senior management, this role will drive financial performance and support strategic investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead preparation, consolidation, review and finalisation of annual OPEX and CAPEX budgets, ensuring timely approvals and periodic reviews.
• Monitor and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual revenue, cost and profitability performance, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.
• Provide financial evaluation and decision support for capital expenditure proposals and investment decisions.
• Prepare and circulate monthly MIS, coordinating financial performance reviews with business stakeholders.
• Oversee preparation, analysis and review of financial statements in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Analyse expenses, receivables and working‑capital trends, driving corrective measures for operational efficiency.
• Manage cash flows, liquidity position and short‑term investment decisions to optimise returns and ensure adequate funding.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit observations, strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
• Lead completion of statutory audits within defined timelines and act on audit observations.
• Maintain adherence to all statutory and regulatory compliances, including Service Tax/GST and EPCG obligations.
• Lead, coach and motivate the finance team through effective communication, performance management and capability building.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in finance and accounts, preferably in large organisations or infrastructure/port setups.
• Strong exposure to balance‑sheet finalisation, statutory audits and regulatory compliance.
