Field Supervisor – Transmission & Substation with Hybrid Renewable Integration

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Field Supervisor to lead on‑site execution of EHV/UHV transmission and substation projects while integrating hybrid renewable energy systems. The role acts as the PMC representative, ensuring safety, quality and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise execution of transmission lines (up to 765 kV) including foundations, tower erection, and stringing of conductors and OPGW.
• Oversee substation construction (AIS/GIS) covering equipment erection, busbar systems, cable laying, and bay installation.
• Manage integration of solar PV, wind farms and BESS with the transmission network, ensuring compliance with grid code and CEA requirements.
• Ensure technical compliance by interpreting engineering drawings, SLDs and coordinating with design teams to resolve site issues.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections, verify testing readiness, and manage NCRs and punch‑point closure.
• Enforce HSE standards, monitor permit‑to‑work systems and support safety audits and incident investigations.
• Track daily progress, prepare reports, identify risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors, OEMs, QA/QC, HSE teams and client representatives as the primary PMC liaison on site.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electrical, Power, Electronics or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience in transmission line (up to 765 kV) and/or substation construction and commissioning.
• Experience with renewable energy integration projects (solar, wind, BESS) is preferred.
• Willingness to work at remote project sites and in challenging terrain.

Required skills

• Transmission line construction and stringing (conductor & OPGW) up to 765 kV.
• Substation construction (AIS/GIS) and equipment installation.
• Renewable energy evacuation systems – solar, wind, BESS.
• Sagging, tensioning and cable laying/termination (MV/HV/EHV XLPE).
• Knowledge of Grid Code, CEA, IS/IEC standards.
• Interpretation of SLDs, layouts and AutoCAD drawings.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and exposure to Primavera/MS Project.
