Field Engineer – Transmission & Substation with Hybrid Renewable Integration

About the role
The Field Engineer will act as the Owner’s Representative, overseeing the supervision, coordination and quality assurance of EHV transmission lines, GIS/AIS substations and hybrid renewable evacuation infrastructure (solar, wind and BESS) for a PMC assignment.
Key responsibilities
- Supervise construction, installation, testing and commissioning of EHV transmission lines, GIS/AIS substations and hybrid renewable evacuation systems (33 kV‑765 kV).
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, maintain daily/weekly reports and ensure compliance with technical specifications, quality, HSE and schedule requirements.
- Oversee tower erection, foundation works, OPGW installation, ROW coordination and statutory approvals.
- Direct installation and commissioning of power transformers, switchgear, protection, control, SCADA and metering equipment.
- Coordinate grid integration of solar PV, wind farms and BESS, including step‑up transformers and MV/HV cable systems.
- Supervise containerised BESS installation, monitor battery parameters and ensure safety compliance.
- Support HVDC converter station execution and integration of STATCOM, PMU/WAMS and digital substation technologies.
- Review vendor drawings, BOQs and technical submissions for compliance with standards and grid code.
- Implement QA/QC procedures, witness FAT/SAT tests and manage NCRs.
- Enforce HSE standards, conduct inspections, toolbox talks and incident reporting.
Required profile
- Minimum 8 years of experience in EHV transmission line and substation projects up to 765 kV, including HVDC.
- Hands‑on experience with GIS/AIS substations, EHV XLPE cable systems and renewable energy integration (solar, wind, BESS).
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of IEC/IS standards, grid codes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for reporting and stakeholder engagement.
