Fetal Medicine Consultant (Chennai)

About the role

The Fetal Medicine Consultant will deliver expert clinical care for high‑risk pregnancies, performing detailed fetal scans and diagnostic ultrasounds. Based at the Mom n Me Fetal Medicine Center in Guindy, the role involves close collaboration with obstetricians, neonatologists and other specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed fetal scans, diagnostic ultrasounds, and assessments for high‑risk pregnancies.
• Interpret imaging and diagnostic results and counsel expectant parents on findings and management plans.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, neonatologists, cardiologists and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care.
• Conduct outpatient consultations, monitor ongoing cases, and document clinical findings accurately.
• Participate in case discussions, quality‑improvement initiatives, and patient‑education activities.
• Support training of junior clinicians and sonographers and stay current with advances in fetal medicine.

Required profile

• Strong clinical expertise in fetal medicine and obstetrics, with specialized training or significant experience.
• Exposure to fetal cardiac evaluation and ability to interpret related findings.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and managing obstetric/fetal emergencies.
• Capability to train and guide junior doctors, sonographers, and healthcare staff.
• Medical degree (MBBS) with postgraduate qualification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (MD/MS/DNB) and preferably a fellowship or certification in Fetal Medicine.
• Current registration with the appropriate medical council and adherence to ethical, evidence‑based standards.
• Excellent communication, counseling skills and attention to detail in imaging and documentation.
• Willingness to work on‑site in Guindy with flexible scheduling as required.
