About the role

The Asian Development Research Institute (ADRI) in Patna is inviting applications for rolling faculty positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor levels across a wide range of interdisciplinary domains. Candidates will join a research‑focused institute committed to evidence‑based public policy and capacity building.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct high‑quality interdisciplinary research and publish in leading national and international journals.
• Develop and submit externally funded research proposals.
• Produce policy reports, working papers, and evidence‑based advisory documents.
• Design and deliver teaching, executive education, and capacity‑building programmes.
• Mentor research staff, interns, and early‑career scholars.
• Build national and international academic collaborations.
• Contribute to ADRI’s institutional growth through academic leadership and outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in a relevant discipline from a recognised Indian or international university.
• Outstanding academic record with a strong research track record.
• Robust publication record in peer‑reviewed journals or academic books appropriate to the career stage.
• Evidence of interdisciplinary research and policy engagement (advantageous).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to contribute to collaborative research, teaching, mentoring, and institutional development.
• For Associate Professor and Professor levels: demonstrated academic leadership, externally funded research, doctoral supervision, and sustained scholarly contributions.
• Preference for experience with governments, international organisations, development agencies, think tanks, or interdisciplinary research centres.
