Faculty Position – Philosophy of Education

About the role

Azim Premji University is seeking faculty members for its Philosophy of Education programme at the Bhopal campus. The role involves teaching postgraduate courses, developing curriculum, and contributing to the university’s interdisciplinary growth.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Philosophy of Education courses at the master’s level.
• Develop and update curriculum using philosophical tools such as conceptual analysis and argument‑building.
• Participate in interdisciplinary programme design and institutional process implementation.
• Engage in culture building, serve on university bodies, and support institutional development.
• Mentor students and foster a collaborative, diverse learning environment.
• Pursue personal research with university support.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (e.g., PhD or equivalent) in Philosophy, Education, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of philosophy and familiarity with Indian educational discourse.
• Reflective, critical thinker with excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Orientation toward collaborative work and willingness to engage a diverse student body.
• For experienced practitioners: more than 10 years of on‑ground experience in school education within the Indian context.
