About the role
ActionPlas Ltd are looking for an experienced Fabrication & Assembly Technician to join their Plastics Manufacturing Team. This hands‑on manufacturing role is responsible for the fabrication, forming, welding, bonding, finishing and assembly of engineering plastic components and assemblies.
Key responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble components from a range of engineering plastics.
- Read and work accurately from engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Perform plastic welding, bonding, and joining using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Form, bend and fabricate plastic sheet, and mechanically assemble machined and fabricated components.
- Carry out drilling, tapping, cutting, trimming, finishing and fit inserts, fasteners and fixings.
- Manufacture jigs, fixtures and fabricated assemblies as required and conduct dimensional and visual inspections.
Required profile
- Experience in plastic fabrication and assembly, including welding, forming and bending.
- Proficiency with bonding and joining techniques for engineering plastics.
- Strong mechanical assembly skills with machined and fabricated components.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work to tight dimensional tolerances.
- Competence using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment.
- Experience in inspection and quality checking of plastic parts.
