Expert System Engineer

About the role

The Expert Virtualization Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and supporting enterprise virtualization and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions. This role leads complex datacenter migration, modernization, and infrastructure transformation initiatives while serving as a technical subject matter expert for VMware, Nutanix, storage, networking, and compute technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Architect scalable virtualization platforms and perform capacity planning.
• Lead infrastructure deployments, upgrades, and large‑scale datacenter migrations.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure infrastructure performance, availability, and troubleshooting across virtualized environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to manage technical risks and deliver projects on schedule.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineering teams, and develop infrastructure standards.
• Support strategic initiatives such as cloud adoption, platform modernization, and infrastructure optimization.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• VMware (VCP/VCA) and Nutanix (NCA/NCP) certifications are desirable.
• Strong technical leadership, stakeholder and vendor management abilities.
• Proven project delivery and risk management skills.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into business outcomes.

Required skills

• VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi, vMotion, DRS, HA, vSAN).
• Nutanix HCI (Prism, cluster management, lifecycle operations).
• Datacenter migrations, consolidations, and infrastructure modernization.
• Storage, networking, compute, and security technologies.
• Performance tuning, capacity planning, and infrastructure optimization.
• Infrastructure automation using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred).
• Advanced troubleshooting, incident management, and operational support.
