Executive - Transport

About the role

The Senior Transport Executive will lead day‑to‑day transportation operations for the Pune facility, ensuring the timely and cost‑effective movement of goods and personnel. This position requires strong coordination, regulatory compliance, and the ability to optimise routes and resources.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments, optimising routes and vehicle utilisation.
• Monitor and maintain the company fleet, ensuring safety, maintenance standards and compliance.
• Coordinate with vendors for vehicle leasing, repairs and insurance renewals.
• Liaise with transport vendors, negotiate contracts and supervise driver performance.
• Ensure adherence to transport regulations, permits and statutory requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, fuel consumption and expenses.
• Track transportation costs, prepare reports for management and identify cost‑reduction opportunities.
• Implement safety protocols for drivers and vehicles and manage emergency situations.

Required profile

• Graduate in Logistics, Supply Chain or a related field (MBA preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of transport/logistics experience, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of local and national transport regulations.
• Proven ability to handle pressure and resolve operational challenges quickly.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics operations.
• Excellent planning, coordination and negotiation abilities.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems.
• Experience with transport management software.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
