Executive - Assurance (FAAS) - Financial & Accounting Advisory

About the role

EY is hiring an Executive for its Assurance practice, within the Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) team, based in Mumbai. FAAS helps clients ensure their accounts comply with audit standards, gives audit committees a clear view of their position and provides stakeholders with critical information. The role covers GAAP conversions, consolidation, transaction support, IPO readiness and tax reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and execute FAAS projects and develop and implement solutions
• Identify and develop business opportunities and manage client accounts
• Explain complex accounting and financial reporting issues simply, with support from technical subject matter experts
• Provide advisory solutions tailored to each client
• Deliver regular travel to meet key clients

Required profile

• Qualified CA (or equivalent such as CPA, ICAEW, ACCA)
• Good academic record (first or second attempt for ICAI or equivalent)
• Strong IGAAP and/or IFRS and/or US GAAP financial reporting experience in complex or large companies, typically in audit, advisory, transaction or MNC finance/M&A environments
• Minimum 1-3 years of relevant post-qualification experience
• Ability to explain complex accounting and reporting issues simply, with an advisory mindset
• Business development skills and aptitude, with a strong track record expected at Senior Manager and above
• Strong project management and communication skills

Required skills

• Specific financial reporting experience in at least one of: acquisitions, carve-outs, demergers, restructuring; IPO preparation including listing rules in India/UK/US; complex consolidation in an MNC setting with ERP/consolidation systems; tax planning and complex structures; technical training delivery
• Specific topics: revenue recognition, financial instruments, off-balance sheet financing, consolidation and SPEs, banking, insurance
