Evening Custodian Substitute Pool

About the role

This part‑time position supports the district’s facilities management team by providing evening custodial services throughout the 2026/2027 school year. The role is ideal for candidates who enjoy maintaining clean, safe environments in educational buildings.

Key responsibilities

• Sweep, vacuum, and mop floors in classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, and kitchens.
• Empty wastebaskets, remove trash, and clean chalkboards.
• Refill paper, soap, and other restroom supplies.
• Strip, wax, and buff hard‑floor surfaces, including gym floors.
• Lock and secure the building at designated times.
• Coordinate scheduled nighttime activities and ensure security protocols are followed.
• Maintain regular and prompt attendance.
• Perform any additional custodial tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• Reliable attendance and ability to work evening shifts.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Physical capability to perform manual cleaning tasks.
• Basic understanding of safety and security procedures.

Required skills

• Operation of mechanical floor equipment (stripping, waxing, buffing).
• Floor stripping and waxing techniques.
• Floor buffing and polishing.
• General custodial equipment handling.
